“To Be a Teacher is my Greatest Work of Art”
- Joseph Beuys
Throughout my time at NCAD, I was given the opportunity to teach in 3 different post - primary school settings, delivering content to a range of age groups. I also was given the opportunity to work as an English & Art Teacher in a Language School, which further developed my skills in communicating & planning and delivering content.

Teaching Philosophy
As an art educator, my teaching philosophy revolves around fostering personal creativity in each student, and instilling a profound love for artistic expression.
I believe that every individual possesses a unique creative spark, and my role is to ignite and nurture that flame within each student.

I aim to inspire a genuine passion for the arts and encourage students to explore their creativity freely, in a safe and welcoming environment.
Since I was young, art has been my life, and from an early age, it was all I ever wanted to do. I never felt satisfied unless I was creating, whether it was the time I tried to teach myself to create stained glass (much to the dismay of my parents and our kitchen glass doors), or the day when I exhibited my first painting. This personal connection fuels my passion for teaching, and drives me to create an environment that encourages students to explore their unique creative sparks freely.
Teaching art is more than a job for me; it's my source of immense joy and purpose.
As an illustrator myself, I bring my personal love for art into the classroom. I find profound fulfilment in witnessing students discover their creative potential and develop artistic skills. My goal is to inspire the next generation of artists by not only teaching technical aspects but also fostering a mindset that values curiosity, resilience, and innovation.
It’s not always about being the best artist, but it’s about giving each student a space within my classroom to experiment and grow, but most importantly, to learn and to have some fun.
